Unitas modernized the quarterback position and is widely considered the prototype for the play style that we still see today. Butkus played for the Bears from 1965-1973 and was one of the most gritty, hard-nosed tacklers the NFL had ever seen. He won two Defensive Player of the Year Awards and was an eight-time Pro Bowler, which showed how talented he was despite going up against modern offenses such as the Colts and Unitas had.
